Ted has been a practicing attorney since 1987. He spent 10 years as an Assistant States Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois. Ted has a wide range of experience in numerous assignments, including Traffic Court, the Third Municipal District, Felony Review, Narcotics Court, the Felony Trial Division and the Public Integrity Unit. Ted has extensive courtroom and trial experience in felonies, misdemeanors and traffic cases, as well as litigation matters ranging from Driving Under the Influence to First Degree Murder. Ted occasionally has been called upon to act as a Special Prosecutor by numerous governmental agencies in sensitive cases due to his reputation and extensive prosecutorial experience.

After his successful career as a prosecutor, Ted entered private practice in 1998. He has successfully tried numerous civil and criminal matters in Wisconsin, Illinois and Federal courts since that time. In 2003, Ted joined up with his longtime partner in the State’s Attorney’s Office, Kevin Noonan, to form Kmiec and Noonan LLC in Salem, Wisconsin. Ted and Kevin often combine their many years of experience to discuss cases and work together towards obtaining the best possible results for their clients. Ted is currently practicing mainly in the areas of criminal and traffic law, although he sometimes handles civil matters as well.

Ted has successfully represented clients in the following jurisdictions: Kenosha, Walworth, Waukesha, Racine, Milwaukee, Rock, Sheboygan, and Dane counties in Wisconsin; Cook, Lake, and McHenry counties in Illinois; the Northern District of Illinois in Federal Court. Ted has also been successful in Appellate cases in the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Ted is an active member of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Ted is also a member of the Walworth County Bar Association and has served as the president of the Kenosha Bar Association.

Ted resides in Salem Wisconsin.
